At SB we see all too often young players lose basketball opportunities as a result of non basketball factors. Our team of trainers will lead an interactive 30-minute basketball etiquette crash course for BOTH PLAYERS AND PARENTS concluding the on the court portion of the hoiday skills tune-up. We touch upon basketball mannerisms often in the gym... join us in a formal setting to learn the "DO's" and "DO NOTS" of competitive organized basketball!

WINTER GROUP SESSIONS PT 1 - Winter 2024

Join the Strictly Buckets Family each Sunday for a group session through the winter. Group Sessions in the winter are designed specifically to keep you in tune with the game reps that you will be seeing through the course of a full season as well as keep you touched up and polished with extra skill development reps that are lost through the course of a season.

RYC Rec Basketball 2024/25 - Winter 2024

BIDDY BALL IS FULL. 

If your child’s practice is held at a school, you will not be allowed in the school. School practices are closed to all parents. (District Rules)

Practice days, times, and locations are determined once the teams are picked and based on the coach's schedules

 Rutherford Rec Basketball's Mission:

To provide the children of the community a fun opportunity to learn and appreciate the game of basketball through active participation in practice and competition; to improve athletic ability and game skills; to build confidence and self-esteem; and to better understand teamwork, sportsmanship and respect for others.

• Rec basketball is Coed for grades K5 through 9th. The boys and girls play together.
• Practices are 2 days a week for an hour for 3rd grade and higher. Biddy Ball practices are 1 time a week
• Once a practice location is picked it should not change unless an availability issue arises.
• Open gyms start in Oct/Nov. These are used to evaluate every player’s skill level. 
• Practices usually start in November and games usually start in Dec/Jan.
• If interested in coaching please register yourself as a coach during registration. (Clearances needed)
• Registrations may close early based on availability.
• Biddy ball games use lowered rims. Their games consist of a 15-minute warmup and then two 15-minute halves with a running clock. (No score is kept)
• Pony & Midget games have two 20-minute halves with a running clock. Scores are kept, fouls recorded, travelling, and double dribble is called.
